Newcastle West End Foodbank want to recruit a temporary post for the position of ‘Warehouse Coordinator’ and welcome applications from experienced, competent, and compassionate people to join our team.

  • Responsible to: Foodbank Operations Manager
  • Hours: 37 hours per week – Monday to Friday (Full-time 3-month temporary contract)
  • Salary: £19,048 per annum – the Foodbank is an accredited Living Wage Employer (this salary is currently under review).

Our Charity was established in 2013 and in the intervening years has provided services to a growing number of people affected by food insecurity and poverty.

You will be the link between our Foodbank Distribution Centres and Warehouse operations and responsible for the oversight of our food management and food parcels preparation. This role is an important part of our operations to ensure the distribution of food reaches vulnerable people in time.

In the 12 months to 31st March 2021 the FoodBank issued over 19,000 food parcels, an average of 1600 parcels each month. Approximately 53,000 people were beneficiaries of this food, which included 21,550 children living in families affected by poverty.

Newcastle West End Foodbank is a Community Interest Organisation, registered charity, and a member of the Trussell Trust network. We are a small but influential charity and want to recruit a Warehouse Coordinator, initially for 3-months. The option to extend the period of employment will be reviewed and based on the needs of the charity to offer a continuation of this contract.
