Newcastle united by community response to Coronavirus

3rd April 2020

The support and donations we have received from the general public and business community in response to the impact of Coronavirus on the vulnerable sections of our communities has been inspirational.

From leading high street stores to small corner cafes, each facing their own challenges and having to temporarily stop trading, have donated their perishable stocks for use and redistribution to our service users.  Faced with unprecedented circumstances these individuals, too many to mention here, took the time to help others through their kind donations for use in our food-parcels.  Please accept our thanks for your generosity of spirit in helping your neighbours in their time of need.

In addition, the contribution of private and online financial donations has reflected the importance donors place on the sustainability of our service.  We depend on financial donations to keep our services going and the general public have responded positively to our online facility to register their desire to help others and tackle food insecurity.

Our partnership with our wonderful friends, NUFC Fans-foodbank is celebrated every match-day and the fans are to be applauded for their generosity over the seasons. Now more than ever, especially with the football season being suspended, we are looking to online donations to ensure the charity continues to meet these new challenges.

Your online donations are helping to ensure we continue to respond to an increasing demand for food-paecels as social-isolation impacts on the most vulnerable sections of our community. My sincere thanks to those of you that have made a financial donated to Newcastle West End Foodbank or intend doing so in the near future. It is your unseen generosity and kindness for others that makes our work possible. Thank you.
