Thank You NHS

22nd May 2020

Everyone at the Foodbank would like to say a heartfelt “Thank You” to the NHS, local businesses, and the public for supporting our charity in these difficult times.

We have received donations from staff at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, the local businesses community and university clubs, each holding fundraisers and many other initiatives to raise online donations and collections for the Foodbank.

April saw a 150% increase in demand for food parcels. The addition of more referral agencies to our Foodbank network, council referrals and our East City hub at Life Vineyard Church will see further demand for food-parcels as the poor struggle financially because of Coronavirus crippling the local economy.

Despite these challenging circumstances the Foodbank will make every effort to keep our food distribution services operating where it is practical and safe to do so. At Newcastle West End Foodbank, we recognise that it is the most vulnerable people in society that need to use our services.

This had been made possible by your support and online donations for which we are extremely grateful.  Thank you.
